RRHA COMMISSIONERS
The Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our Commissioners are our governing body. Commissioners are appointed by City Council to four-year terms.
Their primary roles are to establish policy, articulate goals, supervise the Executive Director, and provide oversight of policy implementation by staff. Commissioners reflect community ideals in establishing policy and represent RRHA in the community. They also build community support and partnerships for initiatives and programs.

Adam was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners on October 23, 2008. He was elected Chairman in August 2012.
He is the Director of Strategic Technology at NetVentures. Adam is a Roanoke native and received his B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech. In addition to serving on the Roanoke City Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Adam is active in Junior Achievement and enjoys serving as umpire at little league baseball games.

Duane was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners on October 23, 2008. He was elected Vice-Chair in August 2012.
He serves as RRHA’s Resident Commissioner. Duane is a very well known and active resident throughout the public housing community. He currently holds the post of President of Melrose Towers Civic League and President of the Joint Resident Council. Duane attended Bethane Cookman College.

Gilbert was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners in December of 2006 to fill an unexpired term and was reappointed to a full term in August 2009.
Gilbert is an attorney and real estate developer. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.A. degree in History and earned a J.D. degree from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law. Gilbert has served on the Roanoke City Planning Commission and the Board of the Library of Virginia, as well as the Roanoke City Electoral Board and the Roanoke Higher Education Authority.

Daniel was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners in December of 2006 to fill an unexpired term and was reappointed for a full term in August of 2011.
Currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Daniel earned a Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Virginia Tech. He is currently serving as Vice-Chairman of the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services Board. Daniel also serves on the Board of Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare and has served on the Roanoke City Fair Housing Board.

Gail was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners in December of 2006 to fill an unexpired term and was reappointed for a full term in 2010.
Gail has worked as a provider and administrator of publicly funded substance abuse and mental health services in the Roanoke Valley for 28 years. Currently employed with Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare, Gail has a M.A. degree from Virginia Tech and is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner.
Gail also serves on the City of Roanoke Human Services Advisory Committee and the Boards of Court Community Corrections, Mental Health Association of Roanoke Valley, and Trust House.

Ed was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners on October 23, 2008.
He is retired and spends a good deal of his time serving the community. Ed has served on several boards including Roanoke Valley Red Cross, United Way of Roanoke Valley, Roanoke Valley Association for Retarded Children and Boy Scouts of America – Blue Ridge Council. Ed completed his undergraduate studies at Albany State University, his graduate studies at the University of Georgia, and obtained his J. D. from Woodrow Wilson College of Law.

Tim was appointed to the RRHA Board of Commissioners on October 7, 2010.
Tim is the ITS Manager for Blacksburg Transit in the Town of Blacksburg. He received BS and MBA degrees from Radford University. Tim has 15 years of experience in local government, including project management, budgeting, grant applications, transportation planning and development review.
